Coyoacán removes 100 tons of obsolete cabling from streets
The Mayor of Coyoacán, Giovani Gutiérrez Aguilar, announced that the district has successfully removed 100 tons of obsolete cabling from its streets. This urban management strategy, which has been in place since May 2022, has resulted in the removal of over 280 linear kilometers of unused wires.
The initiative has covered 522 roads across 76 neighborhoods, towns, and residential units. The project was made possible through coordination between the local government and telecommunications companies represented by CANIETI and ANATEL. The mayor emphasized that the program requires continuous planning and cooperation with infrastructure providers to ensure streets remain clean, safe, and orderly.
