Coyoacán to host chocolate and cacao festivals for Día de Muertos

Various cultural festivals celebrating chocolate and cacao traditions are scheduled to take place in the Coyoacán borough of Mexico City during the 2026 Día de Muertos season.

The Festival Cultural Café y Chocolate will be held at the Museo Nacional de Culturas Populares from October 2 to October 4, 2026. The event features music, Catrinas, sensory workshops, chocolate courses, and coffee tastings. The program includes folklore dance and traditional music from Oaxaca in the Patio de las Jacarandas.

Additionally, the XVI Festival Cacao Para Todos will run from October 29 to November 2, 2026, at the Museo Anahuacalli. Organized by Artefacto México and Nawal Cacao, this event will host over 60 exhibitors, including cacao producers, chocolatiers, and artisans from various Mexican states. While the expo-venta offers free entry, access to specific museum halls requires separate arrangements.
