The hybrid live-action and animation film ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ has achieved a successful theatrical release following a controversial period of shelving. Originally completed in 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery had planned to cancel the film's distribution to claim a tax write-off, a decision that drew significant criticism from fans and creators.

Independent distributor Ketchup Entertainment rescued the project, leading to a strong performance in several markets. In the United States, the film earned approximately $15.4 million during its opening weekend. In Mexico, the film reached the top of the box office, with official figures from CANACINE reporting 47.97 million pesos and over 810,000 viewers during its debut period.

Based on Ian Frazier’s 1990 New Yorker article, the story follows Wile E. Coyote as he files a lawsuit against the Acme Corporation for the repeated failure of its defective products. The film features a cast including Will Forte, Lana Condor, and John Cena, and is directed by Dave Green.
