Coyote vs. Acme to receive theatrical release after shelving

The Looney Tunes film ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ is set for theatrical release following a highly publicized period of uncertainty. Originally produced by Warner Bros. Discovery, the film was shelved in 2023 as part of a $30 million tax write-off, a decision that drew significant industry criticism. However, Ketchup Entertainment has since acquired the distribution rights to bring the project to audiences.

Directed by Dave Green and featuring a cast including Will Forte, Lana Condor, and John Cena, the film is a live-action and animation hybrid. The plot follows Wile E. Coyote as he seeks legal recourse against the Acme Corporation for the repeated failure of its products.

Early critical reactions have been positive, with some reviews describing the film as a ‘complete riot’ and a ‘brilliant comedy.’ The film is scheduled to begin its rollout in late August, with specific dates varying by region, including August 28 in the United States and September 2 in Italy.
