Coyote vs. Acme submitted for Academy Award in Best Animated Feature category

The studio behind the film Coyote vs. Acme has submitted the movie for consideration in the Best Animated Feature category at the Oscars. This move is considered unexpected as the film is a live-action-animation hybrid.

If nominated, it would be only the second hybrid of its kind to compete in this specific category since its inception 25 years ago, following Marcel the Shell with Shoes On in 2022. The film is set to compete against other major titles such as Pixar’s Toy Story 5 and Laika Studio’s Wildwood.

Coyote vs. Acme has received significant critical and audience acclaim. It holds a 96% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising its anti-corporate satire and its ability to bring the Looney Tunes intellectual property into a modern context.
