Coyote vs. Acme surpasses $100 million at global box office
The film “Coyote vs. Acme” has surpassed $100 million at the global box office, marking a significant turnaround for a project once shelved by Warner Bros. Discovery as a tax write-off in 2023.
After being abandoned by Warner Bros., the rights were acquired by Ketchup Entertainment for a reported $50 million. The live-action/animation hybrid, directed by Dave Green and starring John Cena and Will Forte, has seen sustained demand. In the United States, the film has earned approximately $54.8 million, while in Mexico it has become a major hit, attracting over 3.3 million viewers and earning more than $13 million. In Peru, the film also crossed the one million viewer milestone.
The movie is scheduled for a digital release on September 28 at 9 p.m. PT (midnight ET on September 29) via platforms such as Amazon and Apple TV. Despite its complicated production history, the film has maintained high critical and audience scores, including a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an “A” CinemaScore.
