Cozumel to launch first direct flight from Europe via Milan

Cozumel will host its first-ever direct flight from Europe starting December 24, 2026. The new route will connect Milan Malpensa to Cozumel, operated by the Italian airline Neos, a member of the Alpitour World group.

According to Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, the route will utilize Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and operate on Thursdays. This initiative aims to diversify international markets and attract European travelers directly to the island, serving as a strategic response to a recent 10.2 percent decline in arrivals from the United States.

The expansion follows infrastructure improvements made by Grupo ASUR at the Cozumel International Airport and collaborative promotional efforts by the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council and the state's Secretariat of Tourism.
