CP Group and Amazon partner on five-year Thailand AI mission

Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), Arise Ventures Group, True Corporation, and Amazon have announced a five-year strategic partnership through Amazon Web Services (AWS) to advance artificial intelligence and cloud technology in Thailand.

The initiative, titled the ‘Thailand AI National Mission,’ aims to establish CP Group and Arise as regional AI leaders. A primary goal of the five-year plan is to provide AI and cloud skills training to 3 million Thais, including CP Group employees, to address a digital skills gap identified by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The collaboration will integrate AI across several sectors:

• Telecommunications: True Corporation will utilize AI for cloud management, cybersecurity, customer service, and predictive maintenance. • Financial Services: Ascend Money plans to implement AI for credit analysis, e-KYC, fraud detection, and personalized finance. • Retail and E-commerce: Machine learning and computer vision will be deployed across 19,000 service points, including 7-Eleven, Lotus’s, and Makro, to optimize supply chains, inventory, and customer demand forecasting.

Additionally, the partners launched ‘AI FOR ALL,’ a national AI Innovation Hackathon designed to encourage the development of Generative AI prototypes for public health, agriculture, and education.
