Wei Chuan Dragons take 1-0 lead in CPBL Taiwan Series

The Wei Chuan Dragons took a 1-0 lead in the CPBL Taiwan Series championship against the CTBC Brothers with a 3-0 victory at the Taipei Dome. Dragons pitcher Chiang Hsuan delivered a dominant performance, pitching eight innings and allowing only two hits without conceding a run, setting a record for the longest opening scoreless streak in Game 1 of a Taiwan Series.

Statistics indicate that teams starting with a 2-0 series lead have an 89% probability of eventually winning the championship. For Game 2, the Dragons will start foreign pitcher Cristopher Mercedes, while the Brothers will counter with Felix Pena.

The series has also drawn significant attention from cheerleading squads. Dragon Beauties member Kim Na-yeon and Passion Sisters member JJUBI, who are close friends, noted the intense competitive atmosphere as they support opposing teams. Meanwhile, reports surfaced regarding online threats directed at Brothers pitcher Knight Sheng following the first game, prompting police involvement.
