Argentina implements digital literacy and AI programs in schools
Educational authorities in Argentina are implementing various initiatives to address digital safety and technological literacy. In Entre Ríos, the provincial government launched the ‘Compromiso por una Crianza Digital Saludable’ campaign. This initiative, promoted by the General Education Council, aims to prevent cyberbullying and encourage responsible screen use through community cooperation between families and schools.
In the City of Buenos Aires, artificial intelligence is being integrated as a mandatory subject in primary and secondary schools. The program focuses on helping students understand how AI works and identify its risks. For younger students, the curriculum emphasizes awareness of algorithms and data privacy, while older students engage in practical applications like assisted writing and podcast production.
Other regional efforts include financial education training for teachers in Buenos Aires province and digital security workshops for youth in Concepción del Uruguay. These programs address a growing need for digital literacy, as recent surveys indicate that 40% of Argentine adolescents have experienced online harassment.
