CPGE Thiès announces class resumption and capacity expansion
The Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles (CPGE) in Thiès announced that classes are scheduled to resume on October 11, 2026. The announcement was made during a session held at the Ecole Polytechnique de Thiès (EPT) auditorium.
Launched in 2022 to help Senegalese students succeed in competitive exams without the difficulties of relocating to France, the program has reported high success rates. The initial cohort achieved an 85% success rate, while subsequent groups have surpassed 93%. Students have successfully entered grande écoles in Senegal, France, Morocco, and Tunisia.
To address high demand and limited capacity, a new building featuring 99 rooms has been constructed, expanding the school's capacity from 50 to over 300 students. The project aims to support the 'Plan Sénégal 2050' by training national leaders, though officials noted that Senegal currently produces only 800 engineers annually.
