CPI leader Annie Raja criticizes government over women's reservation implementation

Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Annie Raja has criticized Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju regarding the implementation of the women's reservation law. Raja argued that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam was already passed in 2023 and has become law, meaning the current debate should focus on its implementation rather than its passage.

Raja accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of hesitating to implement the law because they do not believe in equal rights for women or wish to see women participating in the country's highest decision-making institutions. She noted that women have been fighting for reservation since 1996.

Additionally, CPI National General Secretary D. Raja expressed concern over the lack of clarity from the Prime Minister and the government regarding the adjournment of both houses of Parliament, stating that the government is responsible for the resulting public speculation.
