CPI leader responds to TVK corruption allegations

Communist Party of India (CPI) leader and Tirupur MP K Subbarayan has responded to corruption allegations leveled against the party by TVK general secretary and minister Aadhav Arjuna.

Arjuna previously accused the Communists of allowing a commission system to prevail during the previous DMK regime, specifically within the highways and public works departments. He alleged that a 27% commission system existed, with funds distributed among families, ministers, and officials. Arjuna claimed the TVK government has addressed these issues by reducing tender estimates.

In response, Subbarayan questioned the TVK leadership's integrity, specifically regarding their induction of former BJP-AIADMK alliance MLAs into the TVK immediately following their resignations. Subbarayan challenged the TVK's claim of being a clean political alternative and stated that the CPI would oppose corruption regardless of who is involved.
