CPIA Catania 2 marks ten-year anniversary of adult education and inclusion

On 21 May 2026 the Centro Provinciale per l’Istruzione degli Adulti (CPIA) Catania 2 in Giarre held a commemorative event at the Cine Teatro Garibaldi to celebrate ten years of operation. The ceremony, directed by school leader Dr Rita Vitaliti and hosted by presenter Ruggero Sardo, featured speeches from local authorities, representatives of the Regional School Office, civil and military officials, and delegations of students from the institute’s multiple sites.

Program highlights included artistic performances, testimonies from students, and a special focus on the institute’s work in prison education, with directors of the penitentiary schools discussing the role of learning in rehabilitation and social dignity. The event underscored CPIA Catania 2’s mission to provide flexible adult education, language certification, and vocational training to both Italian and foreign residents, including programs inside correctional facilities.
