CPIA expands adult education services in Italy
The Provincial Center for Adult Education (CPIA) has expanded its reach through new initiatives and facilities in Italy. In Ficulle, a new headquarters has been inaugurated to serve the Alto Orvietano region, including municipalities such as Fabro, Montegabbione, Monteleone, and Parrano. The center already reports 130 enrollees and offers courses in Italian, English, and computer science, with a specific focus on using Italian language instruction to facilitate the integration of foreign citizens into the community.
In Taranto, the CPIA is being utilized as a laboratory for intercultural history education. Working with classes composed primarily of recent migrants from North and Sub-Saharan Africa, educators are using comparative timelines—contrasting the contemporary history of Guinea with that of Italy—to develop basic historical competencies and negotiate shared interpretive models in multicultural settings.
