CPI(M) Kerala state secretary M. V. Govindan has denied any party involvement in recent online attacks against Malayalam actor Mammootty. The controversy arose following social media backlash after leaders from the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) visited the actor’s residence.
Govindan described Mammootty as a globally renowned artist and stated that the party intends to maintain cordial relations and engage in dialogue with him. He clarified that the party does not support coordinated cyber-bullying and emphasized that any past or present criticism should be viewed as constructive. The leadership noted that the party remains open to interacting with prominent personalities regardless of their political affiliations.
