CPI(M) leaders dismiss ED probe into Pinarayi Vijayan as fabricated

CPI(M) Kerala State Secretary MV Govindan has accused the government of using a “fabricated” case involving Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) to target Pinarayi Vijayan. Govindan asserted that the investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) lacks any evidence and stated that the party intends to fight the allegations both legally and politically.

In response to Hawala allegations raised by the ED against Vijayan and his family members, including his daughter T Veena and son-in-law Riyas, the state government has ordered an inquiry. Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala announced that the Director General of Police (DGP) has been entrusted to investigate the matter.
