CPSC recalls ceiling fans, fire pits, and kerosene heaters over safety hazards

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced several recalls for consumer products due to various safety risks, including fire, burn, and injury hazards.

Southern Telecom is recalling approximately 48,700 Brookstone-branded tabletop fire pits. The recall follows reports of flames escaping the concrete containers and flame jetting, which have caused second- and third-degree burns. The affected units were sold at retailers including Macy’s, Marshalls, and T.J. Maxx between February 2023 and December 2024.

Additionally, Youngo Limited has recalled approximately 9,460 Hampton Bay Halwin 52-inch ceiling fans because the blades can separate from the motor, posing an impact hazard. Consumers are advised to stop using the fans immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or store credit.

Sunnyside Corporation is also recalling 1-K kerosene heaters and appliance fuel containers. These containers lack necessary flame mitigation devices, violating safety standards and posing a risk of flash fires and serious injury or death.
