CQCS Inovação 2026 discusses insurance technology and market expansion

The CQCS Inovação 2026 event, held at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo, brought together executives and specialists to discuss how new technologies impact insurance commercialization, risk assessment, and claims regulation.

Alessandro Octaviani, superintendent of the Superintendência de Seguros Privados (Susep), addressed the gap between industry growth and actual societal protection. He cited the 2024 floods in Rio Grande do Sul, where losses reached approximately R$ 100 billion while insurance payouts totaled about R$ 6 billion, as an example of the need for expanded coverage. Octaviani highlighted regulatory advancements, such as the new Insurance Contract Law, as essential for a new market cycle and mentioned the development of a national catastrophe protection strategy.

MetLife Brasil is participating in the event to share knowledge regarding market transformations. Company executives, including CEO Breno Gomes, Vice President Gustavo Romero, and Commercial Vice President Ramon Gomez, are scheduled to discuss the future of life insurance, embedded insurance through digital platforms, and the use of artificial intelligence and data to support brokers and simplify the consumer journey.
