Craig Bellamy criticizes new international schedule after Wales loss

Wales head coach Craig Bellamy has criticized the new international match schedule following a 1-0 Nations League defeat to Denmark. The loss, decided by a Rasmus Hojlund penalty in the 75th minute, occurred during a condensed window requiring four matches to be played within ten days.

Bellamy argued that the merged schedule disproportionately affects smaller nations with less squad depth. He noted that while elite teams can rotate players effectively, smaller nations face significant risks when injuries occur. During the recent window, Wales dealt with several absences, including Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon, Dylan Lawlor, and Harry Wilson, while David Brooks was forced to leave the group following a match against Portugal.

Despite the defeat, Wales currently sits in third place in their Nations League group after a tiebreaker with Norway.
