Craig Ramsay inducted into Slovak Ice Hockey Hall of Fame

Former coach of the Slovak national ice hockey team, Craig Ramsay, has been inducted into the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation (SZĽH) Hall of Fame alongside Michal Handzuš.

Ramsay, a 75-year-old native of Toronto, reflected on his eight-year tenure, which included leading the team to a bronze medal at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. He recalled the initial offer to coach the national team via a phone call from Miroslav Šatan and expressed deep gratitude for the warm reception he received from the people of Slovakia.

He praised the current direction of Slovak hockey, noting the growth of the sport and the high quality of emerging players, specifically mentioning the NHL performances of Juraj Slafkovský and Šimon Nemec.
