Blumhouse to adapt horror comic ‘Something Is Killing the Children’

Blumhouse has announced it is developing a live-action film adaptation of the hit horror comic series ‘Something Is Killing the Children’. The project, revealed during a panel at New York Comic Con, will be directed by Craig Zobel, known for his work on ‘The Penguin’, ‘Mare of Easttown’, and ‘The Hunt’.

Produced by Jason Blum, the film is based on the BOOM! Studios comic created by writer James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell’Edera. The story follows Erica Slaughter, a monster hunter who arrives in the town of Archer’s Peak to combat creatures that only children can see.

In addition to the feature film, Blumhouse is simultaneously developing an adult animated series based on the comic, with Tynion IV overseeing the production. The original comic series has seen significant commercial success, with over five million copies sold worldwide.
