Craiova expands free school transport for students

In Craiova, the municipal administration is expanding its free school transport program. Starting Monday, September 21, primary school students from Carol I and Elena Cuza National Colleges will have access to dedicated bus routes connecting the city center to various neighborhoods. Each school will have four established routes, with buses departing at 7:45 AM and returning at 12:30 PM. Local Police employees will accompany students on these routes to ensure safety and reduce peak-hour traffic in the city center.

Regarding the academic calendar, students in Romania will observe their first break of the school year on October 5 for Education Day. As this falls on a Monday, it will result in a three-day weekend. The upcoming holiday schedule for the 2026-2027 academic year includes autumn break from October 24 to November 1, winter break from December 23 to January 10, and spring break from April 24 to May 4. Additionally, the 'School Differently' and 'Green Week' programs are scheduled to run between September 7, 2026, and April 23, 2027.
