CRAN promotes digital economy transformation in Oshakati

The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) held its second Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship Breakfast in Oshakati to discuss the growth of Namibia’s digital economy. The event brought together government officials, policymakers, and industry experts to explore how digital technologies can drive innovation, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.

CRAN Chief Executive Officer Emilia Nghikembua emphasized that digital transformation is an imperative for sustainable development, stating that Namibia must embrace these technologies to ensure no citizen or business is left behind. She noted that the goal is to connect policy with marketplace realities, providing practical tools for farmers, young innovators, and small businesses to scale.

Oshana Governor Hofni Iipinge, represented in his speech, highlighted that capitalizing on the digital economy requires deliberate actions, including expanding digital infrastructure, strengthening digital literacy, supporting innovation hubs, and improving access to finance for start-ups.
