Cranbrook concludes 2027 budget and hospice location survey

The City of Cranbrook is conducting its 2027 Budget Citizen Survey, which is scheduled to close on Friday, October 2. The initiative aims to provide the newly elected Mayor and Council with data to inform decisions regarding future services and budget allocations, with a specific focus on community safety, policing, and city services.

The city is utilizing two distinct methods for data collection: a statistically valid survey mailed to 1,600 randomly selected residents and a public opinion survey available online and in paper format at City Hall.

Additionally, the survey includes a query regarding the preferred location for the proposed 10-bed Cranbrook Kimberley Hospice House. Residents can weigh in on whether the facility should be situated at the Mount Baker RV Campground or at one of four other potential sites, including the Frost lands, the Highlands area, the Slaterville area, or the south area of the Kinsmen Quad Ball Park.
