Cranbrook Public Library sees record 340 children sign up for Summer Reading Club

Cranbrook Public Library reported that more than 340 children have enrolled in its 2026 Summer Reading Club, a figure the library staff believes may set a new record. The program, free and open to anyone under 18, runs until the end of August and offers a variety of events including weekly storytimes, craft activities, Lego drop‑ins, movie afternoons, mini‑golf, teddy‑bear sleepovers, and special guest sessions. Participants receive prizes based on the number of books read or the time spent reading, and there is no registration deadline.

Library coordinator Kenzie Fulton said the club’s “Under the Sea” theme has helped generate enthusiasm, and more sign‑ups are expected as the summer progresses.
