The Cranston Police Department arrested two men from the Bronx, New York, following the theft of approximately 100 gallons of used cooking oil from a local restaurant. Anyeson Veras Martinez, 26, and Steven Velez Toribio, 29, face charges of Larceny Under $1,500 and Conspiracy.

Officers utilized a FLOCK License Plate Reader to identify a white 2018 Ford Transit linked to previous thefts in the area. The vehicle was located near a pub on Pontiac Avenue, where police discovered oil residue on the occupants, a pumping system, and large containers. The stolen oil, valued at roughly $200, is often targeted for its commercial use in producing biofuel and animal feed.
