Crato Municipality launches Happy Kids youth program for 150 children

The Municipality of Crato in Brazil has started the Happy Kids project, a community initiative that engages about 150 children aged 7 to 13. The programme offers a range of activities, including swimming, pottery workshops, dance, music, reading sessions, traditional games, sports, cultural visits, environmental education and direct contact with local heritage sites.

Councilor Sandra Cardoso said, “With the Happy Kids project we want to provide much more than just occupying free time. Throughout the activities, children develop essential social and emotional skills such as cooperation, respect, creativity, leadership and the ability to face new challenges.” The project will conclude on 7 August with a closing celebration at Campo 1º de Maio.
