Crawlers horror film set for October 16 theatrical release

The horror film “Crawlers,” directed by Ángel Gómez Hernández, is scheduled for theatrical release on October 16. The creature feature follows a building manager named Serena and the residents of an apartment complex who are forced into a police-mandated lockdown following a catastrophic infestation of venomous spiders.

In a recent interview, Hernández discussed the film’s sound design, specifically the challenge of balancing the audible sounds of the spiders with the stealthy silence they use while moving. He also noted the production's effort to use real spiders in front of green screens whenever possible.

Produced by Roadside Attractions and Saban Films, the R-rated movie features Matilda Lutz and focuses on the survival of residents as the arachnid population multiplies rapidly within the confined space.
