Crayon Shin-chan film breaks franchise box office record

The 33rd film in the ‘Crayon Shin-chan’ series, ‘Crayon Shin-chan: Kiki Kaikai! Ora no Yokai Bake-shon’, has broken the franchise's all-time box office record. Within 45 days of its release from July 31 to September 13, the film reached a box office revenue of over 2.7 billion yen and attracted 2.18 million viewers.

The story follows the Nohara family as they visit Akita, the hometown of Hiroshi, and find themselves lost in a mysterious ‘Yokai land’ where humans are forbidden.

Yumiko Kobayashi, the voice actress for the protagonist Shin-nosuke, expressed her gratitude to the fans for making the record possible. Director Masaki Watanabe also released a special commemorative illustration of the Nohara family enjoying summer fireworks to mark the achievement.
