CRD Vontade improves energy efficiency with new solar battery system
The CRD Vontade Association for People with Disabilities has successfully completed an energy system optimization project to improve the efficiency of its facilities. The initiative involved replacing the existing solar photovoltaic storage system with a new, more efficient, secure, and sustainable battery system.
This upgrade allows the center to better utilize energy generated by its solar panels, reducing reliance on the electrical grid and lowering its environmental impact. The new installation also increases energy reliability, ensuring essential services remain operational and protecting equipment from power supply interruptions.
The project was funded by the Xunta de Galicia through the Consellería de Política Social e Igualdade, specifically via subsidies for programs of general interest with social purposes. The management of the aid was handled by COGAMI (Confederación Galega de Persoas con Discapacidade).
