Córdoba adoption applicants increase by 41%

The number of applicants for public adoption calls in Córdoba, Argentina, has increased by 41% over the last year, according to the Tribunal Superior de Justicia (TSJ). This growth is attributed to new strategies within the Unique Adoption Registry (RUA) designed to help children and adolescents without existing applicants find families.

In 2026, 16 public calls were issued involving 21 children and adolescents. All of these calls successfully attracted at least one applicant, and five children have already begun the bonding process with families selected by the courts. The TSJ implemented several changes to improve results, including personalized follow-ups, direct communication via WhatsApp and digital platforms, and in-person meetings where caregivers share information about the children's needs and interests.

Social media has played a significant role in this outreach, with 62% of applicants learning about the calls through these channels. Since the comprehensive reform of the adoption system in 2023, 463 children and adolescents have found new families, while another 113 are currently beginning the process.
