Legal and social welfare updates in Argentina and Ecuador

Various judicial and social welfare developments are occurring across Argentina and Ecuador. In Argentina, several provinces are intensifying efforts to support child welfare and adoption processes. SENAF in Río Negro has launched the ‘Familias Rionegrinas Solidarias’ program to create a support network for vulnerable children. In Córdoba, public adoption calls have seen a 41% increase in applications, largely driven by social media outreach. Meanwhile, specific calls for adoption and emotional support have been issued for children in the Azul judicial department and Jujuy.

In Mendoza, the Supreme Court of Justice is conducting the annual selection of potential jurors for 2027. In Ecuador, judicial restructuring by the Consejo de la Judicatura has caused delays in high-profile corruption and organized crime cases, including the Encuentro, Goleada, and La Reina trials, as the redistribution of processes among judges is finalized.
