Córdoba and Galicia strengthen ties to promote pilgrimage routes

Officials from the Xunta de Galicia and the province of Córdoba, Argentina, are working to strengthen ties between the Camino de Brochero and the Camino de Santiago. During a visit to Córdoba, Antonio Rodríguez Miranda, the General Secretary of Emigration for the Xunta de Galicia, met with Governor Martín Llaryora to discuss religious tourism and cultural exchange.

The collaboration aims to promote the Camino de Brochero, a 240-kilometer route in Córdoba linked to the Argentine saint Cura Brochero, by leveraging Galicia’s expertise in pilgrimage routes. This partnership also serves as a platform to invite the local community to participate in the Xacobeo 2027, the Holy Year in Santiago de Compostela.

In addition to discussing pilgrimage routes, the delegation visited the Centro Galego de Córdoba to engage with the local Galician community. Officials emphasized the importance of Galician centers abroad in maintaining connections with the diaspora and encouraging participation in upcoming religious and cultural festivities.
