Córdoba, Argentina expands as international university hub and draws global brands
The municipality’s Study Córdoba Capital programme has positioned the city as an international university hub, attracting students from more than 35 countries – especially Mexico, France, Spain, Colombia and the United States. Participants stay an average of six months and concentrate in fields such as Exact Sciences, Economics, Medicine, Political Science and Law. The influx generates direct spending in gastronomy (29%), accommodation (26%), retail (14%) and tourism, boosting the local economy and creating networking and practicum opportunities with the city’s business ecosystem.
At the same time, Córdoba Shopping welcomed a new KFC outlet, adding 130 m² of space and 30 direct jobs. The fast‑food chain’s arrival underscores the province’s growing appeal to multinational retailers seeking growth beyond Buenos Aires, complementing the city’s broader strategy of attracting international brands and consumers.
