Córdoba, Argentina retail sales fall 6.6% YoY in June
Retail sales by small and medium‑sized enterprises in Córdoba province dropped 6.6% year‑on‑year in June, according to a survey by the province’s Commercial Federation (FEDECOM). Ten of the eleven sectors recorded negative growth; furniture and décor fell the most at 11.1%, while pharmacy was the only sector to post a gain, rising 3.9%.
Cash transactions accounted for 71% of sales, with the remaining 29% made by credit cards. FEDECOM president Fausto Brandolin said the results show continued weakness in consumer spending but note that activity appears to have found a floor in April, from which a gradual improvement is expected.
The report highlights a slowing pace of decline compared with earlier periods, suggesting a tentative stabilization in the local market despite broader economic uncertainty.
