Claudio Barrelier’s associate arrested in Agostina Vega femicide case
Police in Córdoba arrested Osvaldo Fassetta, a 47‑year‑old man who lived in a room of the house shared with primary suspect Claudio Barrelier, charging him with aggravated concealment in the femicide of 14‑year‑old Agostina Vega. The arrest was ordered by prosecutor Raúl Garzón after Fassetta gave televised interviews describing his movements on the day of the disappearance and noting a change in the bedding of his bedroom – “Habían puesto un acolchado color clarito en la cama donde yo dormía.”
Investigators are conducting further forensic work in the Cofico residence, where Agostina was last seen alive, and have taken additional statements from witnesses. Barrelier remains in psychiatric custody while awaiting trial for the murder, and the victim’s family continues to demand that any possible accomplices be prosecuted. The case has sparked nationwide attention and calls for deeper scrutiny of the environment surrounding the crime.
