Córdoba authorities detain mother and stepfather after infant suffers skull fractures

A 27-day-old infant is in critical condition after suffering multiple skull fractures in the town of Balnearia, Córdoba province. The child was initially treated at a hospital in San Francisco before being transferred to the Maternal Neonatal Hospital in Córdoba capital for specialized care due to the severity of the injuries.

Authorities have detained the infant's mother and stepfather as part of an ongoing investigation. The Morteros Prosecutor's Office, led by Francisco Paigés, is working to determine the circumstances under which the injuries occurred and is attempting to reconstruct events at the residence where the baby was located prior to medical assistance.
