Córdoba authorities investigate femicide and violent attacks
Authorities in Córdoba are investigating a potential femicide following the death of Pamela Luna Villafañe. Villafañe died on Tuesday morning in the intensive care unit of Hospital Vera Barros due to complications from an assault suffered in late August. The alleged aggressor, who was the victim's partner, is currently in custody.
In a separate but related incident of violence in Río Tercero, a trans woman named Nicol was attacked at a municipal health center on September 3. Security footage captured a man throwing a stone at the victim while she was in the waiting room. While the attacker was identified, he was not detained and was instead issued a restraining order, a measure the victim described as insufficient.
