Córdoba develops Camino de Brochero as major South American tourist circuit

The Government of Córdoba is working to establish the Camino de Brochero as a major religious, cultural, and tourist circuit in South America. To support this, the province is executing two central infrastructure projects designed to accommodate pilgrims, with a scheduled completion date of December 2026.

One major project involves the restoration of the historic Hotel El Cóndor in Pampa de Achala. The province will invest over 1.5 billion pesos to transform the currently unused building into a pilgrim stopover featuring dormitories, dining areas, kitchens, restrooms, and an oratory. The renovation will include structural reinforcement, the use of renewable energy, and universal accessibility while preserving the building's architectural identity.

The second project is the construction of a Pilgrim Welcome Center in Villa Cura Brochero. These initiatives are modeled after the infrastructure success of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, aiming to provide essential spaces for rest, orientation, and spirituality for those following the path associated with the life and work of San José Gabriel del Rosario Brochero.
