Córdoba robbery investigation reveals family member as informant

A violent robbery targeting a retired couple in the San Salvador neighborhood of Córdoba, Argentina, has led to the arrest of a family member suspected of providing intelligence to the criminals.

On July 24, two assailants broke into the home of Carlos (79) and Victoria (80), physically assaulting the couple and threatening them with knives. The thieves escaped with a significant sum of money, including 6,500 dollars, 2,500 euros, and 2.5 million pesos.

Following an investigation led by prosecutor Horacio Vázquez, authorities arrested Miguel Cabrera (35), one of the physical perpetrators. The case took a significant turn with the arrest of Analía Palacios (44), the mother of the girlfriend of one of the couple's sons. Investigators believe Palacios acted as the informant, having learned about the couple's travel savings during a family gathering and subsequently recruiting the attackers.
