Córdoba femicide case of Agostina Vega opens evidence to parties

Fourteen‑year‑old Agostina Vega was murdered in Córdoba in June 2026. On 20 June, the court lifted the secrecy of the case file, allowing the defense and other parties to review all evidence gathered by the prosecution. Prosecutor Raúl Garzón confirmed the move, which will reveal details of the investigations that led to the detention of alleged accomplices.

The main suspect, Claudio Barrelier, is accused of carrying out the killing. Osvaldo Fassetta and Soledad Andreani are charged with having helped conceal the crime. Andreani, who is detained, is alleged to have provided a vehicle used to move Vega’s body and appears in video footage with Barrelier removing a blanket from the car and later purchasing items at a hardware store. The opened file may also shed light on parallel lines of inquiry, including possible sexual exploitation of minors linked to the case.
