Córdoba government coordinates response to El Niño phenomenon
The Government of Córdoba has initiated a coordinated strategy to prepare for the approaching El Niño phenomenon. Under the direction of Governor Martín Llaryora, Chief of Cabinet Manuel Calvo led a diagnostic and planning meeting involving five provincial ministries.
The planning process includes specialists from the Córdoba Hydrometeorological Observatory (OHMC) and representatives from the National University of Córdoba. The initiative focuses on implementing concrete territorial actions, ensuring civil society participation in decision-making, and establishing comprehensive communication for prevention measures.
To maintain readiness, the provincial government is coordinating directly with local Civil Defense departments, sharing technical data provided by the OHMC. The administration intends to execute these actions within established budgetary frameworks and maintain a constant presence in the affected territories.
