Córdoba government to pay compensation after 50-year hospital error

A woman in Argentina has discovered her true identity nearly 50 years after a hospital error resulted in her being given the wrong infant. In May 1977, a woman named Nicole gave birth to a daughter, but the hospital mistakenly provided her with a different baby, Nadia, instead of her biological child, Claudia.

Despite long-standing suspicions regarding physical differences between the child and her other daughters, the truth was only confirmed in 2021 through DNA testing at a private institute in Nueva Córdoba. Following the legal proceedings, the Government of Córdoba has been ordered to pay compensation for the error that occurred five decades ago.
