Córdoba Governor announces major infrastructure and tourism investments
Governor Erasmo Zuleta Bechara has announced several major infrastructure and development projects for the Córdoba department in Colombia. In San Carlos, an investment of approximately $8 billion pesos is slated for a new ecotourism park at Cerro de Colosiná to boost employment and tourism. Additionally, $1.6 billion pesos will be used to upgrade sewage networks and wastewater stations in the area.
Road infrastructure improvements include the completion of a 2.8-kilometer paved section between La Culebra and Cotorra, a $9.6 billion peso project benefiting over 21,000 residents and connecting farmers to the Cereté free zone. In the capital, Montería, the administration is managing between 15 and 20 active work fronts, including road corridors, potable water projects in Cedro Cocido and Leticia-Martinica, and various sports stadium developments.
To fund educational infrastructure, the Gobernación de Córdoba is seeking to use the ‘Obras por Impuestos’ (Works for Taxes) mechanism to build a University of Córdoba campus in Tierralta. The Grupo Argos will provide technical advisory to help the department navigate the national platform requirements for this social investment model.
