Córdoba Governor calls for biofuel law and end to export taxes

During the opening of the 5th International Corn Congress in Córdoba, Governor Martín Llaryora called for the elimination of export retentions and the final passage of the national biofuels law. Addressing producers and specialists, Llaryora emphasized that the country's challenge is not merely production, but the industrialization of raw materials to create high-value-added products.

Llaryora highlighted Córdoba's critical role in the sector, noting that the province produced 20 million tons of corn for the 2025/2026 campaign, representing one-third of Argentina's total production. He also pointed out that Córdoba's three plants produce 50% of the national bioethanol supply used for fuel blending.

The governor was joined by officials including Bioagroindustry Minister Sergio Busso and Santa Fe Production Minister Gustavo Puccini. They advocated for national policies that support the agricultural sector and promote the transformation of raw materials into processed goods to move away from the transport of unprocessed commodities.
