Córdoba Governor Supports Women Rice Producers with New Equipment

Governor Erasmo Zuleta Bechara of the Gobernación de Córdoba visited San Carlos, Córdoba, to deliver a rice‑mill capable of processing 800 kg per hour, along with 22 back‑pumps, 10 motorized sprayers, a motorized hoe and other tools to women farmers of the Red de Organizaciones Sociales de Mujeres Comunales y Comunitarias de Córdoba (ROSMUC). The delivery is part of the Revolución del Campo program, a differential‑approach initiative aimed at strengthening the agro‑productive sector and revitalising the rural economy through investments that improve productivity and living conditions for farming families. The equipment is expected to reduce labor time, increase output and allow the producers to add value to their rice locally, benefiting not only San Carlos but also nearby corregimientos. The program follows earlier actions by the department, including the allocation of 20 hectares of land for a multi‑crop project and a joint investment of more than $1.110 million to support food security and income generation for women and indigenous communities in Córdoba.
