Córdoba health authorities confirm 23 trichinosis cases across three outbreaks

The Ministry of Health of Córdoba reported 23 confirmed cases of trichinosis linked to three separate outbreaks. Two outbreaks occurred in the city of Córdoba, accounting for 12 cases—nine tied to the consumption of wild boar meat and three involving members of a single family under investigation. The third outbreak was identified in the town of Malvinas Argentinas, with 11 cases among relatives and friends who had eaten food purchased locally and from another province.

All patients are being monitored in public and private health facilities, are showing favorable evolution, and four of them are minors under 15 years old. Provincial authorities have warned the public to avoid raw or undercooked pork, boar, and homemade sausages, and to refrain from buying choripán from unlicensed stalls. Multiple agencies, including the Department of Zoonosis, SENASA, and the ministries of Industry, Commerce, and Bio‑agro‑industry, are investigating the source of the infections.
