Córdoba hosts Provincial Parliament for Women's Political Rights

The province of Córdoba hosted the 2026 Provincial Parliament for Women's Political Rights on September 23. The event commemorated the anniversary of the 1947 law that established women's suffrage in Argentina.

The assembly brought together approximately 70 female parliamentarians, including mayors, legislators, union leaders, and academics. The discussions focused on three primary themes: women's political leadership, gender-based political violence, and the care economy alongside gender asymmetries.

The initiative was a collaborative effort between the Vice-Governorship of Córdoba, the Provincial Women's Secretariat, and the Unicameral Legislature. It followed a series of territorial forums titled ‘Women who Participate’ held earlier in September.
