Córdoba hosts Ruta Montería 2026 with 2,200 athletes
More than 2,200 cyclists and runners participated in the Ruta Montería Córdoba 2026 on Sunday, August 16. The event, held in the department of Córdoba, featured various cycling challenges and running races designed to promote sports tourism and showcase the region's natural landscapes.
The cycling portion included three specific routes: the Reto Jaguar and Reto Romosinuano, both covering 153 kilometers, and the Reto Porro del Río Sinú, which spanned 100 kilometers. Running competitions were held at distances of 7 km and 15 km.
In addition to the athletic competition, the event included a solidarity component. Participants were encouraged to donate non-perishable food to assist those affected by the earthquake on August 10. The organizers also contributed 50 participation spots valued at 17.5 million pesos to support the victims.
